Dr. Peter F. Heilmayr, 87, passed away on August 18, 2020 after suffering a stroke. He passed away peacefully in his home in Broadway, Virginia, surrounded by his family and the music of Mozart.
Peter was born in Salzburg, Austria, on August 12, 1933. After earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Vienna, he built a career in plastics extrusion, becoming one of the world’s foremost experts. All the while, he continued to cultivate his lifelong love of music and the outdoors.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Claire Robin, his children, Dietlinde, Robert, Stephan, and Susanna, his grandchildren, Kasimir and Sophia, and his first wife, Anna Heilmayr. He was predeceased by his second wife, Gundula Heilmayr.
